India’s popular OTT streaming platform Disney+Hotstar is all set to deliver the original series titled Mike soon. Based on the dynamic life of former American Professional boxer Mike Tyson, the series will cover all the aspects of his life.
The legendary boxer is considered to be one of the greatest heavyweight boxers of all time, he was nicknamed “Iron Mike” and “Kid Dynamite” in his early career and later known as “The Baddest Men on the Planet”.
Mike Star Cast
American actor Trevante Rhodes is playing the title role in the 8-part series. He is well known for his performance as Chiron in Academy Award- winning coming-of-age drama film Moonlight. For his role he also won many accolades and awards.
He also appeared in movies like Open Windows, Burning Sands, 12 Strong, The Predator, Song to Song, Smartness as well as in movies like Gang Related, If Loving You Is Wrong, Gang Related and Westward etc.
Rhodes is the perfect choice for the role of Mike Tyson. Along with him, the series also stars Harvey Keital as Tyson’s coach Cus D’Amato, Laura Harrier as his ex-wife Robin Givens, Russell Hornsby as Don King, Li Eubanks as Desiree Washington, the model who accused Tyson of rape.
Mike Trailer Out
Hulu released the trailer of Mike on July 20, 2022. The nearly 2.5-minute long trailer givens us the glimpse of Mike Tyson’s life, going through his childhood, his title as world champion and controversies like rape conviction etc.
Along with focusing the lens on Mike Tyson, the trailer also highlights class and race factor in America as well as media power, misogyny, the wealth divide, the promise of the American Dream and all these factors and drawbacks Tyson turned as his strength and became world champion.
The trailer looks very promising and its seems Rhodes will surely to justice to the boxing legends character. Check out the trailer here:
Mike OTT Release Date
Created by Steven Rogers and Karin Gist, the Original series is set to premiere on popular American OTT streaming on August 25, 2022.

Whereas in India, the 8-part series will premiere on Disney+Hotstar. However the date of premiere here is yet to be announced. It is more likely to be released on the same date in India. We will wait till the official announcement from the makers.
Disney+Hotstar dropped the poster of the series, featuring Trevante Rhodes as Mike Tyson with the same attitude and aggression on his face. The poster reads “You May Know Tyson, But Do You Know Mike”?.
