Samaritan is an upcoming American superhero film which is directed by Julius Avery, who had earlier directed films such as 2014 crime thriller “Son of a Gun” and action horror film “Overload” (2018).
The upcoming superhero film is Avery’s third directorial project and he joined the production as a director in September 2018, the film is based on Mythos comic graphic novels created by Bragi F. Schut, Marc Olivent and Renzo Podesta with the screenplay written by Schut.
Its filming started in February 2020 in Atlanta but the production faces hindrance due to COVID-19 pandemic. By October 8, 202o, the filming resumed.

Samaritan Star Cast
The film stars veteran actor and filmmaker Sylvester Stallone in the lead role as Joe Smith a.k.a Samaritan. He was last seen in superhero film The Suicide Squad along with Idris Elba, Margot Robbie and John Cena.
Stallone is best known for headline action franchises such as Rocky, Rambo and The Expendables. He was one of Hollywood’s highest-paid actors of the 80s and 90s and gave many commercially successful films like Cobra, Tango and Cash, Cliffhanger, Demolition Man, and The Specialist, etc.
