Digital platform Amazon Prime is all set to return with its successful period comedy series The Marvelous Mrs. Marvel season 5. The fourth season premiered on Feb 17, 2022, and on the same day, the studio renewed the show for a new season.
Amazon’s this series is critically acclaimed and has won many awards at awards ceremonies including Prime Times, Golden Globe, Screen Actor Guild, and so on.
The show is set in the backdrop of 1950-60, centered around a housewife, who wants to become a stand-up comedian and follows what her conscience tells her.
Star Cast of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel
- The long-standing actors of the show are returning for the new season, with Rachel Brosnahan (Emmy Winner) in the main lead as Miriam Maisel aka Midge who performs stand-up comedy in clubs after her husband left her.
- Alex Borstein (two-time Emmy winner) she’s the manager of the gaslight cafe where Midge works.
- Michael Zegen as a stand-up comedian and Midge’s husband, playing Joel Maisel.
- Marin Hinkle (Emmy nominee) in midge’s mother role as Rose Weissman.
- Tony Shalhoub (Four-time Emmy winner) essays a maths professor at renowned Columbia university, playing Abraham Weissman aka Abe.
- Kevin Pollak is playing Moshe Maisel, midge’s father-in-law.
However, it is still unclear if Kirby will make a guest appearance in season 5 as she is missing from the official season 5 cast list.
Kelly Bishop and Milo Ventimiglia will reprise their season 4 guest star roles in season 5. Additionally, Alfie Fuller, Jason Ralph, and Reid Scott have been promoted to series regulars.
Amazon Prime Release Date
The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel season 5 is set to premiere on the Over The Top (OTT) platform Amazon Prime Video on April 14, 2023 with a three episode premiere. According to the reports, the remaining six episodes will then be released weekly, culminating with the series finale on May 26.

Ahead of the series premiere, the official trailer for season 5 of Mrs. Maisel has been arrived. In the trailer, Midge is still battling to build her career with the support of her manager Susie, but as always, it isn’t an easy task.
The trailer gives us a glimpse of the Midge’s efforts to finally make it big in as a standup comedian.

Amy Sherman Palladino serves as the creator as well as the showrunner along with Daniel Palladino, they both also wrote and directed the show. The latter also executive produced it.
The first season premiered in the year 2017, the second on Dec 2018, the third in Dec 2019, and after two years hiatus, the fourth season premiered on Feb 2022.
