In the ongoing Test series against England, team India is likely to give rest to the leading wicket-taker, Japrit Bumrah in the fourth test match. Cricketer, Jasprit Burmah has been performing exceptionally well in the Test Series and stands at the top of the wicket-taking list as he has taken a total of 17 wickets in three matches.
In the last three matches of the Test series, Jasprit Bumrah has bowled for 80.3 overs, which is the most among Indian players. But now it was announced that Jsprit Bumrah will not be playing for the next Test series on Friday in Ranchi.
Reason, Why is Bumrah not Playing?
As the cricketer, Jasprit Bumrah is emerging as one of the strongest players in the Test series against England and has scored extremely well. The fourth test series match against England will be on Friday, 23 February 2024 in Rachi and India is leading with 2-1.
According to recent reports, it was stated that Indian cricket will soon be leaving for Ranchi but pacer Jasprit Bumrah will not be there as the board has decided to give rest to the player to manage his workload. It is also reported that Jasprit Bumrah will be with his family in Ahmedabad and it is not confirmed if he will play the last match of the series or not.
The BCCI has also stated in an official statement that Jasprit Bumrah has been released from the squad for the fourth IDFC First Bank Test against England in Ranchi. The statement further says that the decision was taken keeping in mind the duration of the series and the amount of cricket Bumrah has played in recent times.
India Playing XI for 4th Test Match
As it is reported that Jasprit Bumrah will not be playing in the fourth Test series match against England, the arise is who will replace Bumrah. However, there is no official confirmation regarding the replacement of Jasprit Bumrah, but two names are coming up for the replacement.
Cricketer Akash Deep and Mukesh Kumar are the expected replacement for Jasprit Bumrah. Mukesh Kumar has already had an opportunity to play in the second Test but he did not perform well. So there are high chance that Akash Deep will play the fourth match against England.
There is no official announcement by the BCCI that who will replace Jasprit Bumrah in the further match and who will join the team India along with Mohammad Siraj. On the other hand, it’s also confirmed that KL Rahul is not coming back for 4th test. Newly 2nd time father Virat Kohli is enjoying parenthood, not available for this entire series.
