The league competition for test cricket, ICC World Test Championship is run by the ICC (International Cricket Council). The first test championship started with the 2019 Ashes series and finished with New Zealand lifting the trophy after defeating India in the first WTC final in June 2021.
The ongoing second ICC WTC started on 4 Aug 2021 with the Pataudi Trophy series between India and England.
Australia leads the WTC points table with a points percentage of 66.67, followed by India at 58.8. The two teams faced each other in the four-match BGT test series, recently.
WTC Final 2023 Date & Venue
Meanwhile, the ICC (International Cricket Council) in early Feb 2023, announced the 2021-23 WTC Final date. The final will be played at Oval, London from June 7-11, 2023 after the Indian Premiere League 2023. A reserve day has also been kept on 12 June 2023.
The inaugural edition of the WTC Final was won by New Zealand, defeating India by 8 wickets in the 2021 final in Southampton.
