On Tuesday, Imran Khan, the former Prime Minister of Pakistan and leader of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), claimed that his wife, Bushra Bibi, was allegedly “poisoned” during her confinement at their private residence in Islamabad. In January, both Khan and Bushra Bibi received concurrent 14-year prison sentences in connection to the case concerning the unauthorized sale of state gifts Khan received during his tenure as prime minister.
According to a report from PTI, Bushra stated that there were circulating rumors within the party suggesting she was an “American agent” and alleging she was poisoned by a well-known toilet cleaner. She specified that “three drops” of the toilet cleaner were added to her food, claiming that a person’s health deteriorates after ingesting it for a month.

Imran Khan claimed that Bushra Bibi was poisoned by the country’s army chief General Asim Munir is responsible for the incident. Khan additionally called upon the court to mandate a medical examination for his 49-year-old wife, Bushra, to be conducted by Dr. Asim from Shaukat Khanum Hospital.
Bushra informed the court that she had been treated with respect at the Bani Gala sub-jail, but mentioned a period during which she was not allowed to open the windows. Earlier, the PTI party claimed that Bushra had been served “poisonous food” while in custody, citing severe pain as a consequence.
