Statement Of An NTA Official
Recently, a senior NTA official gave a statement that read, “Medical education has been severely impacted by the pandemic.” While the academic calendar for all institutions was affected, medical schools were particularly hard hit. With PG exams postponed to accommodate the high demand for doctors, this resulted in delays. “The trickle-down impact is that the first-year classes were delayed by about 4 months.”
The NTA official shared that there is a possibility that the NEET UG date might be delayed until July as well. However, for most, June 18 seems to be the most favourable and latest date by which the exam will be conducted.
NEET 2023 Exam Date
According to various sources, the National Testing Agency (NTA) can conduct the NEET 2023 exam on any of the following dates: May 28, June 11, or June 18. Already, because of the pandemic, the academic calendar for NEET is lagging behind. Some NTA officials have expressed a desire to hold the NEET UG examination by June in order to adjust the academic calendar.
In reference to these statements, it is safe to say that NEET 2023 would be conducted in the last week of May or by mid-June. It is also expected that NTA can announce the exam date by January 2023. Taking all the information into consideration, the registration process for NEET 2023 is expected to begin on February 1, 2023, on the official website.
