Varun Dhawan will star in the Indian installment of Citadel, a series set in Amazon’s Citadel global franchise created by the Russo Brothers. It will mark the OTT debut of Varun.
Citadel-Hindi will be directed by Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK (Together known as Raj & DK) known for delivering the web series The Family Man. Along with directing the project, Raj & DK serves as the showrunners and executive producers of the series.
Citadel Hindi Star Cast and Production
As per the reports, the filming of the Indian installment of Citadel will begin in January 2023. Recently the filmmaker duo Raj & Dk confirmed Varun Dhawan as the main lead for the series. They launched a poster featuring Varun Dhawan on social media platforms. Take a look, below:

If the media reports are to be believed Samantha Ruth Prabhu will be seen sharing screen space with Varun Dhawan in Citadel-Hindi. It will mark their first collaboration. However, an announcement about the same is yet awaited.
Citadel Hindi Release Date
The first to launch series within the Citadel universe is the U.S series Citadel starring Priyanka Chopra which will premiere on Amazon Prime in 2023. On the other, the release date for Citadel Hindi is yet to be announced.
As per the reports, the series will take 3-4 months to complete the production and see a late 2023 or early 2024 premiere on Amazon Prime. Along with Citadel Hindi spinoffs set in Italy, Spain and Mexico are also in the developments.
Citadel Plot
Citadel is an action-packed espionage series, as per the reports, the Hindi installment of the series will revolve around the tale of spies in India. Varun and Samantha reportedly be doing the role of spies. The report also reads that the series will be set in the 1990s will be played around two timelines, the start and the end of the 90s.
