Bollywood’s queen Kangana’s latest flick Dhaakad was released on the big screens on 20 May 2022, the film was announced in the year 2020 and the shooting of it was completed in July last year.
Ahead of the release on the big screen, Dhaakad had garnered positive reviews from the trailer, the action sequence, especially of Kangana, production design, and the dark theme was highly praised. Even known American critic Chris Gore praised the trailer, he said that the Black Widow’s trailer should have been made like Dhaakad.
Box Office Performance
However, the film failed to pull the footfalls toward the cinema halls, it was opened with negative response from the critics and the audience alike.
It managed to accumulate only Rs 2.58 crore in its first week and was declared a bomb at the box office. Dhaakad was made with a budget of Rs 85 crores (including PA & advertisement), and it is said to be faced Rs 78 crore loss.

Dhaakad OTT Release Date
Earlier, it was being said that Dhaakad could be premiered on OTT in June’s first week but the later reports stated that no digital platform is interested in buying its rights considering the huge loss it faced at the BO.
Finally Zee5 to show Kangana Ranaut’s high-octane action thriller drama, she promised breathtaking action before release, unfortunately audiences didn’t show their interest in the film, OTT release in 1st July.

Star Cast of Dhaakad
Razneesh Ghai aka Razy directorial sees Kangana Ranaut in the character of Agent Agni, Arjun Rampal is playing the antagonist role as Rudraveer, and Divya Dutta as Rohini. Saswata Chatterjee and Sharib Hashmi are seen in pivotal roles.
The performance of Kangana, the lit fighting action sequence, and Arjun’s blend of urban style with desi lingo make this film certainly a one-time watch if not more.

Directed by Razneesh Razy Ghai, who also wrote the story with Chintan Gandhi and Rinish Ravindra, and dialogues by Ritesh Shah. Dhaakad is made under the banner of Sohum Rockstar Entertainment, Sohel Maklai Productions and Asylum Films. The technical crew members are Tetsuo Nagata cranked the camera, Rameshwar S. Bhagat was onboard for editing and it has the music of Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy, Dhruv Ghanekar, Badshah, and Hiten Kumar, the back groud score done by Dhruv Ghanekar.
