Ayushmann Khurrana’s latest release Doctor G has been released in the cinemas. It is a medical campus comedy that revolves around the hilarious struggles of Dr. Uday Gupta.
Doctor G is a mid-sized film, made on a budget of 35 crores, reportedly. Ayushmann who is all set to entertain the audience with his latest release has charged Rs 9 crores as his salary, as per Mensxp.

Box Office Collection Day 1
The advance bookings reports of the movie are on the lower side, it only managed to sell tickets worth Rs 76.17 Lacs for the opening day. Ayushmann’s film has got an “A” certificate from the censor board, which is advisory for an 18+ audience. Also, the target audience of the flick is youth and not the family audience.
Amid this, it will need positive word of mouth which would translate into box office figures. However, it did perform above par the expectations on its first day. As per the early reports, Doctor G opened with 3.2-3.5 crores at the box office.
It was expected to take a start of 1.5-2 crore, it seems the lost audience of Ayushmann’s has finally come back, as the flick has done well in the multiplexes, reportedly.

Doctor G clashes with Kantara
Doctor G locked horns with Kannada smash hit film Kantara in the Hindi circuit, the latter has got a wide release up North and is expected to pull the crowds towards the cinema halls due to word of mouth. It has already been considered a blockbuster in the Kannada version, and it is now being released pan-India in multi-languages.

It has received mixed to positive reviews from the critics. Firstpost critic Anna MM Veticad rated the film 2.5/5 stars, TOI gave the movie 4 stars out of 5, Grace Cyril of Indiatoday gave 2/5 stars, Rohit Jaiswal gave 3.5 out of 5 stars and Sumit Kadel gave 3.5 out of 5 stars.
It is being praised for comedy sequences, direction, emotional parts and the performance of main leads, especially Ayushmann Khurrana. It is expected to be released in 2200-2500 screens in India.

Doctor G is directed by Anubhuti Kashyap, it is her first directorial venture. It stars Ayushmann Khurrana, Rakul Preet Singh, Shefali Shah, and Sheeba Chaddha in the main lead roles. The trailer was unveiled on Sept 20, which garnered a lot of eyeballs for the flick. It has been viewed over 2.59 crore times so far.
Ayushmann’s last two films tanked at the box office, both films took the start of below five crore mark. So, Doctor G becomes crucial for Ayushmann, if it bombs then he will make a hat trick in terms of flops at the box office. The actor is known for delivering back-to-back hits with content-oriented flicks.
