Filmfare Awards South event is the South Segment of the annual Filmfare Awards, which are presented by the Filmfare Magazine of the Tata Group. It is the most prestigious award event that honours both artistic and technical excellence of professionals of South India cinema which includes Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam and Kannada film industries.
These awards were introduced in 1954 to honour the film release in 1952-53. In 1964, they were extended to Telugu, Tamil, Bengali and Marathi to honour the excellent work of professionals in the films released in 1963. Later, in 1967 and 1970, the inclusion of Malayalam and Kannada cinema were done in the awards.

Filmfare Awards South Date & Venue
This year marks the 67th edition of Filmfare Awards South which was held in Chennai in 1972 and it was the first time it was organised outside Chennai. After 1977 most of the time it was organised in the city and some of the editions were also organised in Hyderabad.
However, this year is special, as it is the first time in the history the show will be organised in Bangalore. Filmfare shared the venue and the date of the event. It will be held on October 9, 2022 at the Bangalore International Exhibition Center, Nice Junction, Tumkur Road, Bangalore.
