The Uttar Pradesh Police Paper took place on February 17 and 18, 2024. Administered by the Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board (UPPRPB), nearly 48 lakh candidates participated in the examination.
The UP Police constable exams occurred in two shifts on February 17 and 18: the first from 10 am to 12 noon and the second from 3 pm to 5 pm. The objective of this examination is to recruit 60,244 male and female police constables.
Following the exam, a significant uproar ensued on social media regarding the alleged leakage of the UP Police Constable exam paper. Candidates who attended the shift 2 exam on February 17 asserted that the paper had been leaked.
Numerous candidates shared screenshots on Twitter (X), claiming that the UP Police constable paper had been circulated among aspirants via WhatsApp. The Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board (UPPRPB) has now addressed these allegations.
UPPRPB’s Statement on Paper Leak
The Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board (UPPRPB) has denied these allegations, asserting that initial inquiries indicate certain individuals are exploiting Telegram’s edit function to disseminate unfounded rumors regarding paper leaks.
UPPRPB took to Twitter (X) and stated, “Preliminary investigation found that individuals are using Telegram’s edit facility to cheat and spread misconceptions about paper leaks on social media. The Board and UP police are monitoring these incidents and thoroughly investigating their sources.”

In Ballia district, the police have captured 14 individuals suspected of cheating in the ongoing exam. Among the apprehended were three individuals who were impersonating police constable candidates.
Over the last two days, the state police have detained more than 100 individuals across various districts, including Etah, Mau, Prayagraj, Siddharthanagar, Ghazipur, Azamgarh, Gorakhpur, Jaunpur, Firozabad, Kaushambi, Hathras, Jhansi, Varanasi, Agra, Kanpur, Ballia, Deoria, and Bijnor. They stand accused of impersonation and cheating during the UP Police constable recruitment exam.
