IPS Officer Amit Lodha, the inspiration behind Netflix’s popular crime drama series Khakee: The Bihar Chapter, has gotten himself in a big trouble after a case of corruption was registered against him, which led to his suspension from his post.
The case was lodged by the Special Vigilant Unit of the Bihar Police, after it found him guilty of misusing his position for personal financial benefits.

As per the statement of the unit, the Lodha while serving as the IPS officer, signed an agreement with a private firm for his financial gain.
The charges against him state that, he signed a contract with Netflix for the purpose of negotiating a deal with production company Friday Storytellers, which produced the web-series inspired by him, while he was still an IPS officer.
On December 7, 2022, the FIR was launched against Lodha under Sections 120B and 168 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) as well as the sections of the Prevention of Corruption Act, or APC Act. Following the investigation, all of the allegations against him were found to be true, and he was suspended from his position.

Born in 1974, IPS officer Amit Lodha hails from Jaipur, Rajasthan, and he served in the reputed position of Inspector General in Bihar until his name came up in the corruption charges.
He was a brilliant student in his academic days and cracked IIT on his first attempt. He graduated from ITT Delhi, but the uneasiness of the IIT life pushed him towards the preparation of the UPSC. He was is 1998 batch officer and has also served as the DIG-BSF Jaisalmer, Rajasthan.

Amit Lodha is also known as the “Super Cop” of Bihar for his work and willingness to serve the people of the country. He has solved a lot of mysterious cases with the help of his teammates and knocked down many gangsters.
For his bravery, he was also awarded the President’s Police Medal and the Internal Security Medal. He has also written many books. “Bihar Diaries: The True Story of How Bihar’s Most Dangerous Criminal Caught,” one of his books, was the inspiration for Netflix’s recently released crime drama series “Khakee: The Bihar Chapter.”
The series is created and written by Neeraj Pandey, directed by Bhav Dhulia, and produced by Friday Storytellers banner. Actor Karan Tacker has played the role of IPS Amit Lodha in the series. It has gained a positive response from viewers and critics.
