In the ongoing race to become the new CM in the states where elections were conducted, including Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Telangana, and Mizoram, The state assembly elections were conducted in five states in November 2023.
The results of the elections came out on Sunday, December 3, 2023, and since then, numerous candidates have been considered to be the next CMs. In Telangana, Congress candidate Revanth Reddy has been announced as the new CM.
In Mizoram, Laldu Homa was announced as the new CM, and he took an oath and charge on December 8, 2023. In Madhya Pradesh, Dr Mohan Yadav has been announced as the new CM. In Rajasthan and Chhatisgarh, it has still not been officially announced who will be the new CMs.

Prem Kandu Thungan is the youngest CM of India and Arunachal Pradesh. Thungan was elected as the CM of Arunachal Pradesh when he was 29 years old. He became a CM in 1978. Not only this, Thungan has served as various ministers (education and industry, employment, and more) in his political career.
Gegong Apang
Gegong Apang became Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh when he was 30 years old in 1980. Apang is one of the youngest CMs in India and Arunachal Pradesh. Gegong Apang is also one of the longest-serving CMs in India. Apang served as the CM of Arunachal Pradesh from 1980 to 1999 and from 2003 to 2007.

Pema Kandu
Pema Kandu is the Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh and has been serving as CM since 2016. Kandu became the CM of Arunachal Pradesh at the age of 36. Kandu is a member of the BJP party and is one of the youngest CMs in India. Earlier Kandu was a businessman and has also served as a MLA from Mukta constituency in Arunachal Pradesh. Pema Kandu will serve as the CM of Arunachal Pradesh till 2024.
Mayawati
Mayawati is the former Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh and has served as the 18th CM of Uttar Pradesh. She served as CM in 1995, 1997, from 2002 to 2003, and from 2007 to 2012. Mayawati is also the National President of BSP ( Bahujan Samaj Party). Mayawati became CM of Uttar Pradesh at the age of 38 and was the first female Dalit CM of India.
Omar Abdullah
Omar Abdullah was the youngest CM of Jammu and Kashmir and became CM at the age of 38. Abdullah served as the CM from 2009 to 2015. Abdullah was the Union Minister of State for External Affairs in Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s NDA government from 2001 to 2002.
Akhilesh Yadav
