In a shocking incident, a man named Shahrukh Hussain committed a heinous crime out of one-sided love in Jharkhand’s Dumka district. The 19-year old set ablaze his neighbor Ankita Singh, a 12th class student after she rejected his proposal.
What is the Entire Matter?
Shahrukh, who is the next-door neighbor of Ankita, used to follow her on the pretext that he was in love with her. He even proposed to her but she rejected his proposal as she was not interested in him.

This made Shahrukh angry and on 23rd August, while she was sleeping in her room, he poured petrol on her from the window and burnt her alive. She was immediately taken to Jhano Medical College and Hospital, Dumka and later shifted to Ranchi’s Rajendra Institute of Medical Science (RIMS) for better treatment.
Ankita sustained 95% of burns and even battled for life for a few days but unfortunately, on August 28, 2022 at around 02:30 am, she succumbed to her burns. It is being said that before her death, she was continuously asking every visitor to tell her honestly whether she would survive or not.
Shahrukh Hussain Arrested for Murdering the Innocent Girl
Following receiving information about these incidents, Executive Magistrate Chandrajit Singh and SDPO Noor Mustafa visited the hospital and inquired, where Ankita named Shahrukh as the culprit. After taking Ankita and her family members’ statement, police arrested Shahrukh the same day.
A video of him being arrested has been going viral on social media in which he can be seen smiling shamelessly, having zero regrets about the heinous crime he committed. Ever since the video clip has gone viral, netizens are showing their anger on social media and demanding justice for Ankita.
The incident sparked uproar throughout Dhumka district, and many people including the members of several Hindu organizations called for protest marches and demanded that the killer should be hanged after a fast trial in court.
Activist Jyot Jeet posted the video of the arrest of Shahrukh in which he can be seen smiling and walking in a way which shows that he doesn’t feel shame or regret for his crime.
