During a wedding celebration in Ludhiana, Punjab, a dancer was verbally abused and assaulted. According to police, an FIR has been lodged against four guests implicated in the incident.
Footage of the altercation, occurring at a banquet hall in the Samrala area, depicts Simran Sandhu, the dancer, engaging in a dispute with several guests who were intoxicated. Frustrated by the guests’ misconduct, Simran was driven to exchange heated words with a man before the situation escalated into a physical altercation.
Eventually, event organizers intervened and moved her away from the scene. Subsequently, the woman complained to the local police. Jagroop and his three of his companions were then booked about the incident.
DSP Samrala, Tarlochan Singh said, “An event was ongoing at Gill Palace in Samrala on Sunday night, which included a dance group with female performers. Certain individuals in attendance behaved inappropriately with one of the dancers. Following a complaint, separate cases have been filed against Jagroop and his three associates under multiple sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).”
Sharing the ordeal, Simran herself said, “This man, Jagroop, insisted that I dance off-stage. I informed him that I was instructed to perform on the stage. Subsequently, another individual approached and attempted to compel me to come down. Amidst this, a third person threw a glass at me. Feeling agitated, I confronted them. All of them were intoxicated. I, too, am human, and I became angry, leading me to exchange heated words with them.”
