Actor Prakash Raj has been booked by Karnataka Police of Bagalkot district over a social media post. On Monday Prakash Raj did a tweet in which he allegedly mocked India’s ambitious third lunar mission– Chandrayaan-3.
Several users claimed that the post was insensitive and derogatory. People asked him to show respect towards the ISRO scientists who are responsible for the historic Moon mission.
Who complained against Prakash Raj?
It seems like people are very much in anger with actor Prakash Raj as a complaint has been filed against him for his post on the Chandrayaan-3 mission. The Bagalkot police claimed that leaders of some Hindu organizations leaders filed a complaint against the actor at the police station and demanded immediate action.
After the post went viral, several people schooled Prakash Raj on the matter. He was also slammed by members of different Hindu organizations and supporters of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
In reply to Prakash Raj’s tweet, people in the reply section told him that there is a huge difference between not agreeing with something and ridiculing your own country. One user commented that the success of Chandrayaan-3 will be the success of India and not of a particular political party.
Prakash Raj did a Twitter post on Sunday, in which he shared a cartoon of a man in a shirt and lungi pouring tea. The actor captioned the post as, “BREAKING NEWS:- First picture coming from the Moon by #VikramLander Wowww #justasking.”
Prakash Raj Clarification
After facing a huge backlash, Prakash Raj did another tweet as a clarification of his previous tweet. Prakash Raj clarified on Twitter that the tweet was just a joke and some people are just taking offense.
The actor Tweeted, “Hate sees only Hate…I was referring to a joke of #Armstrong times celebrating our Kerala Chaiwala-which Chaiwala did the Trolls see? if you don’t get a joke then the joke is on you..GROW UP #justasking.”
Chandryaan-3 Moon Mission Latest Update
On the other hand, Chandrayaan-3 is all set to make a smooth landing on the Lunar Surface on August 23 at 6:04 p.m. The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) will live stream the historic event on the official website and on YouTube.
The follow-up mission to Chandrayaan-2 is called Chadrayaan-3. As per the latest updates Vikram Lander has successfully established contact with Chandrayaan-2’s orbiter before landing. This link is important since Chandrayaan-3 has multiple connections to the ISRO headquarters.
