The well-known South Indian actor and producer, K Shivaram has recently passed away at the age of 70. The amazing personality, K Shivaram died on Thursday, 29 February 2024 which has shocked everyone and is a huge loss to the South Indian industry.
K Shivaram had a profound identity as he was the first person to clear the UPSC exams in Kananada back in 1986. The IAS turned actor-politician, K. Shivaram passed away on Thursday, 29 February 2024 in a hospital in Bengaluru. K. Shivaram was 70 years old and as per some reports he had been suffering from multiple health issues for the last few days due to which he succumbed to death in the HCG Hospital of Bengaluru.
According to some reports, K.Shivaram’s last rites will be performed today Friday, 1 March 2024. It is believed that K. Shivaram was survived by his wife and daughter and some reports even claim that he died due to a heart attack. However, there is no confirmation of the news.
The news of K. Shivaram’s death came as a shock and many known personalities paid tribute to him. The INC (Indian National Congress) party President, Mallikarjun Kharge paid tribute to K.Shivarm and shared a photo of him with a note on X. Apart from him various other politicians, actors, friends, and fans of K. Shivaram also mourned his death and sent condolences to his family.

The former IAS officer turned actor-politician, K. Shivaram was born in Uragalli, Ramanagara district on 6 April 1953. Shivaram completed his primary schooling in his village but later he moved to Bangalore for his higher studies and studied at the Malleshwaram Government School. Later, K.Shivaram studied at V.V. Puram Evening College of Arts & Commerce and gained a degree of Bachelor of Arts.
After completing his graduation, K. Shivarma earned a Master of Arts in History through an open University of Mysore. K. Shivaram’s father’s name was S. Kempaiah, who was a drama master and his mother’s name was Chikkaboramma. K.Shivaram was married to Vani Shivaram and he has a daughter, who is married to a Kannada actor, Pradeep.
K. Shivaram’s career
K. Shivara, embarked on his career in 1973 as he joined the Crime Investigation Department as a police reporter after his schooling. While he was working he also completed his further education. Shivaram then appeared for the K.A.S exam and was selected as the Deputy Superintendent of Police. then in 1986, Shivaram was ranked first in the Karnataka Administrative Service and was selected as Assistant Commissioner of Police.
While K. Shivaram was under training at Karnataka Police Academy, he cleared his civil service exam (UPSC) was selected as the IAS officer, and became the first person to clear the exam in the Kannada language. While serving as an IAS in 1998, K. Shivaram delved into entertainment and made his movie debut with the movie Baa Nalle Madhuchandrake.
K. Shivaram was seen in various South Indian movies and he was last seen in the movie Tiger in 2017. Shivaram earned a name in the entertainment industry while continuing his job. After his retirement in 2013, K. Shivaram entered politics and joined INC and in 2014, he contested in elections from Janata Dal but lost. However, he rejoined INC but after two years in 2016, Shivaram joined BJP and served the public.
