A new initiative is taking place as Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently laid the Kalki Dham temple’s foundation stone. On Monday, February 19, 2024, PM Modi was invited to the event by Acharya Pramod Krishnam, who had been expelled from the Congress for his anti-party remarks for six years.
The Kalki Dham temple is being constructed in the Aichhoda Kamboh in Sambhal, Uttar Pradesh, by the Shri Kalki Dham Nirman Trust. Along with PM Narendra Modi, the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Yogi Adityanath, also attended the function.
After the puja ceremony, PM Modi addressed the gathering and said that this event has been possible after 18 years of waiting and has been possible due to the devotion of saints and the spirit of the public. PM Modi also said that he will soon launch around 14,000 projects across Uttar Pradesh worth more than 10 lakh crores, which will surely lead to a bright future.
Who is Lord Kalki?
There is a saying behind the Kalki Dham temple, and it will be observed as one of the most special temples as it was built by the god Kalki’s incarnation. As per the holy texts, Lord Kalki is the prophesied tenth and final incarnation of Lord Vishnu, which will appear at the end of the Kali Yuga. It is believed that Lord Kalki will end the Kali Yuga and usher in the next Satya Yuga.
According to the Puranas, Kali Yuga began as soon as Lord Krishna left the earth, and it is also said that Kali Yuga is 4 lakh, 32 thousand years long. Around 5126 years of Kali Yuga have passed till now, and it is also said that Lord Kalki will be born in the Sambal district of Uttar Pradesh. The birth date of Lord Kalki will be the fifth day of the Shukla Paksha of the Sawan month.
Interestingly, Lord Kalki’s appearance has already been described in the Agni Puran, and it is stated that Lord Kalki will be a king of heaven who will be holding a sword in one hand and a chakra in another. Also, it is said that Lord Kalki will appear on the white horse named Devdutt and will destroy all the sinners of Kali Yuga.

The significant temple, Kalki Dham Temple’s foundation is finally laid and very soon the temple will be inaugurated. The Kalki Dham temple will be finally constructed after 18 years in the Sambhal district of Uttar Pradesh by the Shri Kalki Dham Nirman Trust, whose chairman is Acharya Pramod Krishnam.
It is reported that the Kalki Dham temple will be built on 5 acres of land with the sues of pink stone and iron and steel will not be used in the construction of the temple. Also, the temple will be constructed with a 108-foot-high shikara. There are anticipations that Kalki Dham will be constructed in the next five years. However, more details about the temple are yet to be known.
Kalki Dham history
According to the mythological survey and historical surveys, in the 12th century, Prithviraj Chauhan founded the temple of Lord Vishnu at Sambhal, and the centuries-old temple was dedicated to Lord Kalki. However, Babar ordered to destruction of the temple in that era.
In the 16th century, Babar the founder of the Mughal Empire ordered his general to destroy the Kalki temple in Smabhal, and a mosque was built on the holy land. It was the second temple destroyed by Babar after Ram Mandir in Ayodhya. As per a historian, the description of the mosque clearly states that the temple’s pieces were used to build the mosque.
However, the demolition of the Kalki temple was not mentioned in Babar’s diary but a historian in 1940 published it in a book that says that Babar not only demolished Ram Mandir or Kalki Dham but he demolished many Hindu temples.
