Kedarnath Aggarwal was married to Naruti Devi, and they had six children. The eldest son was named Radhey Mohan, the middle one was named Navratan, and the younger one was named Ramesh. However, they had three daughters named Krishnakant, Manju, and Suman.
Kedarnath had four elder brothers and one sister. His father established the business and named his shop Bikaner Mithai Bhandar in Bikaner in 1905.
Bikanerwala Story
In the 1950s, Kedarnath Aggarwal moved from Bikaner to Delhi with his brother and family to earn a living. There he started selling sweets (Rasgulla) and savories (Bhujia Namkeen) in the famous paranthe wali gali in the streets of Chandni Chowk.
Sooner or later, his hard work pays off, and then he starts a shop named ‘Bikaner Namkeen Bhandar’ that offers snacks and namkeen. A few years later, Bikaner Namkeen Bhandar gained recognition and became popular as Bikanerwala.
In 1965, Kedarnath’s son, Shyam Sunder, joined the business. and he launched Bikano, a packaged food brand. A few years later, in 2000, the son of Shyam Sunder Agarwal, Manish Aggarwal, entered the family business.
However, at that time, Bikano was not working well, and the profit from it was very low. Manish helped his father expand Bikano, and now it offers a wide range of eatables like cookies, matthi, sweets, namkeens, papads, syrups, samosas, and many more.
