There is a very small percentage of students who crack the UPSC CSE on their first attempt, and Tamili Saha is one of them. 23-year-old Tamali Saha is among the few individuals who cracked the exam on the first attempt.
At the age of 23, Tamali Saha serves as an IFS (Indian Forest Services) officer. Hailing from West Bengal, her success in qualifying for the exam has made her an inspiring figure for all aspirants.
Tamali embarked on her path to success in her hometown of North 24 Parganas, West Bengal, where she finished her schooling. Subsequently, she relocated to Kolkata to pursue a degree in Zoology at Kolkata University.
Throughout her college tenure, Tamali remained resolute in her aspiration to clear the UPSC exam. In 2020, her dedication bore fruit as she successfully passed the UPSC Indian Forest Service Examination on her maiden attempt, securing an All India Rank of 94. This feat granted her the esteemed position of an Indian Forest Service (IFS) officer, with her initial posting in her native state of West Bengal.
Candidates who are selected for the Indian Forest Service undergo training at the Indira Gandhi National Forest Academy (IGNFA) located in Dehradun, Uttarakhand. As an Indian Forest Service officer, Tamali works for the management and conservation of forests and wildlife in India. It’s a career path that involves significant responsibilities in protecting and managing the country’s natural resources.
