A few days ago, student protests erupted in Uttaranchal University, Dehradun, in response to a complaint made by the hostel warden. After the protest, the university has suspended three students for creating ruckus on college campuses.
Apart from that, a police complaint is also registered at Premnagar Police Station, and the matter is under investigation. The video of these students is making the rounds on social media, where they can be seen vandalising college property. Arvind Kumar of BBA first year, Meet Khanna, and Mohammed Aahish of B.Tech first year are the students who have been charged in this matter.
In the video, it can be seen that the students have broken the bike and windows of the university. The protest turned violent, and the university authorities called the police to calm the situation down. As per the university authorities, strict actions have been taken against all the people who tried to hamper the peace.
Dr. Rajesh Bahuguna, dean of Uttaranchal University’s law college, told the media that the chief proctor had been suspended and an inquiry committee had been established following the incident. In addition, students who were engaged in disrupting university property have been barred from attending college.
According to Vice Chancellor Bahuguna, these students proved other students were behind the voilent protest, and with the help of CCTV, the university authorities were able to find these students who tried to disrupt the peace and turn the protest voilent.
