In a horrific incident, a 19-year old girl was murdered by 3 men near Rishikesh, Uttarakhand. The girl who hailed from Pauri Garhwal district of the state used to work as a receptionist in a resort named Vanantara in Yamkeshwar area, which is about 10 km from the main town Rishikesh.
The accused involved in this murder case are- the resort’s owner Pulkit Arya, manager Saurabh Bhaskar and assistant manager Ankit Gupta. Pulkit is the son of BJP leader Vinod Arya.

What is the Entire Matter?
The Girl was a resident of Srikot village of Pauri Garhwal district and almost a month ago, she came to Rishikesh, where she got a job as a receptionist in Pulkit Arya’s Vanantara resort in the Lakshman Jhula area. On September 18, her family filed a missing complaint after she couldn’t be traced.
Based on the missing complaint, an FIR was registered on September 21. The victim’s father alleged that the girl was molested by the accused and the audio of the incident had been recorded.
As per Police sources, she went to Rishikesh that night at 8 o’clock with resort owner Pulkit, Saurabh and Ankit Gupta. On the way back, the accused trio stopped to drink alcohol by a canal along Chila Road.
After some times, a quarrel broke out between the girl and the trio, after the girl refuses to involve in prostitution for the guests’ of the resort she was working. In a fit of anger, the three allegedly pushed the girl into the canal.
Uttarakhand Police Arrested the Three Accused
On Friday, the Uttarakhand Police said that the missing report had been converted to a murder case. They had also arrested the three accused of the murder of the girl. All the three were presented before court on Friday and were sent to 14 days of judicial custody.
All the accused have now confessed their crime and stated that they had thrown her body into the canal after a dispute between them. The SSP of Pauri Garhwal said that Sections of murder and concealment of evidence – 302 and 201 of the Indian Panel Code have been slapped on them.

After a search operation by SDRF, the body of the girl has been found from the canal and her brother and father have identified the body.

About the Pulkit Arya
One of the main accused and resort’s owner Pulkit Arya is the son of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Vinod Arya, who is a well-known figure in the state as well as the party. At present, he is a member of the National Executive of BJP OBC Morcha.
Along with that, he is the co-in-charge of Uttar Pradesh and has also been a former Minister of State. His other son Ankit Arya is a Minister of State. He is currently holding the position of the Vice-Chairman of the Uttarakhand OBC Welfare Commission.
After this horrific incident, on the order of Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami the demolition of Pulkit Arya’s Vanantara resort has started. The accused used to carry out illicit activities there. The CM also ensured strict action against the accused for the heinous crime.
