The much-awaited movie ‘Animal,’ starring Ranbir Kapoor and Rashmika Mandana, is all set for release on December 1, 2023. The promotional and pre-release events for the movie are currently taking place, and one of the recent events has sparked controversy.
A recent pre-release event for the movie ‘Animal‘ was held in Hyderabad, where renowned personalities from Telugu were also invited. During the event, Malla Reddy, a politician from Telangana, made some controversial statements about the Bollywood industry and Film City Mumbai in his speech, Hindi movie fans are totally upset with his divide-and-rule mindset.
What Happened at Animal Pre-Release Event?
On Monday, 27 November 2023, a pre-release event of the movie Animal was held in Hyderabad. The event was joined by the Animal Team including key actors Ranbir Kapoor, Bobby Deol, Anil Kapoor, Rashmika Mandanna, director Sandeep Reddy Vanga and OG from Telugu Industry Mahesh Babu, SS Rajamouli, and others.
The event was going well until the politician, Malla Reddy took over the stage and made some irrelevant remarks. A video is going viral on social media where Malla Reddy said to Ranbir that he wants to tell him that in the next five years, Telugu people will rule over India, Bollywood, and Hollywood.
Malla added he (Ranbir) should also shift to Hyderabad next year because Mumbai is now old and Bengaluru has traffic jams. Hyderabad is the only city left in India and it will rule Bollywood. He even appreciated South actors, directors, and films.
It was also seen in a video that during Malla Reddy’s speech, Ranbir and Mahesh Babu were smiling awkwardly and both the actors uncomfortably smiled at each other. Even the director SS Rajamouli looked quite awkward and did not react when Malla mentioned him as an achiever for the movie Bahubali.
The video went viral on the internet and Bollywood fans are angry and hurt at Malla Reddy and people are expressing their anger by commenting on the video.
Who is Malla Reddy?
Malla Reddy is a Politician and the Minister of Labour and Employment of Telangana. Malla was born on 9 September 1953 and presently he is 70 years old. Reddy was born and brought up in Bowenpally, Hyderabad.
Malla Reddy was admitted to Wesley Co-education High School and completed his intermediate from Mahabubia Junior College. Malla Reddy’s wife’s name is Kalpana Reddy and the couple had three children named Mamatha Reddy, Mahender Reddy, and Dr, Bhadra Reddy.
Malla Reddy started off his political career in 2015 and joined Telugu Desam Party. In the 2014 election, he was the only member of Parliament for the Telugu Desam Party to win a seat in Telangana. Later in 2016, Malla Reddy switched to the Bharat Rashtra Samithi.
Malla Reddy is a member of the Legislative Assembly. He was also a member of parliament in the Lok Sabha. Apart from that, Malla is a businessman and an educationalist in Telangana. Malla Reddy is also a founder chairman of Malla Reddy Narayana Multispeciality Hospital.
