Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Raghav Chadha is the youngest Member of Parliament (MP), Rajya Sabha, from Punjab, India. He was the MLA from the Rajendra Nagar assembly constituency in Delhi as well as the Vice Chairman of the Delhi Jal Board.

Chadha was born in New Delhi on November 11, 1988, to Sunil Chadha and Alka Chadha. He spent the majority of his childhood and adulthood in the national capital. There is not much available in the public domain about his family.

However, he only did his graduation for a year and then opted for correspondence in order to pursue Chartered Accountancy (CA) from the prestigious Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI).

He later went to the London School of Economics for a certificate course in EMBA (Executive Master of Business Administration) after finishing his graduation. He is a practising chartered accountant who has previously worked with renowned accounting firms such as Grant Thornton, Deloitte, and Shyam Malpani, among others.

Raghav Chadha Political Career

Chadha, 34, who has been a member of the Aam Aadmi Party since its inception, first met party chief Arvind Kejriwal in 2011 during the anti-corruption movement “India Against Corruption,” which was led by social activist Anna Hazare.

In 2012, Aam Aadmi Party chairperson Arvind Kejriwal encouraged Chadha to draught the Delhi Lokpal Bill, which was his first political task. After that, there was no looking back for Chadha, and he became the AAP’s TV face as well as the party’s youngest national spokesperson.

He was appointed the AAP’s national treasurer at the age of 26, after the party won the Delhi Legislative Assembly Election with a majority in 2015.

Later, in the 2019 Lok Sabha Elections, he contested from the South Delhi Parliamentary Constituency and made it to second place after losing to BJP candidate Ramesh Bidhuri.

In 2020, he was appointed the AAP’s Punjab co-in-charge for the Punjab Legislative Assembly Election 2022, in which the party had a landslide victory by winning 92 out of 112 assembly seats. He is widely regarded as the mastermind behind the party’s historic win in Punjab.
