Why did Elvish Yadav Beat Sagar?
A social media feud erupted between Sagar Thakur and Elvish Yadav when the Thakur called Elvish Yadav a “hypocrite.” This comment came after a photo of Elvish Yadav and Bigg Boss winner Munawar Faruqui went viral on social media where they were both seen warming up together before a cricket match.
Elvish Yadav is a vocal supporter of Hindutva. He also faced backlash from his followers for being photographed with Munawar, who had been arrested in 2021 for alleged “indecent” remarks about Hindu deities.
After Sagar’s comment, the two encountered each other in Gurugram around 12:30 am. Subsequently, around 2 am, Sagar Thakur posted a video on social media alleging that he had been assaulted by Elvish Yadav and a group of 8-10 men.
What are the charges against Elvish Yadav?
The Gurugram police have filed a case against Elvish Yadav under sections 147 (about rioting), 149 (related to unlawful assembly), 323 (involving voluntary causing hurt), and 506 (in connection with criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
Sagar Thakur stated in the police complaint that he wished to highlight a serious incident of assault and threats to his life carried out by Elvish Yadav, requiring urgent legal intervention. He said he is a renowned content creator specializing in gaming entertainment and has been actively producing content on YouTube since 2017.
