A video of a US SPD cop has taken the internet by storm, in which police personnel are making fun of a deceased girl who was hit by a Seattle Police officer’s car. The deceased student has been identified as Jaahnavi Kandula.
Social media got the attention of this video almost nine months after the incident. In the viral video, an SPD cop (Auderer) could be heard saying, “She’s dead.” Auderer then laughs and says “It’s a regular person.” He then went on to say, “Just write a check—$11,000; she was 26 anyway; she had limited value.”

Jaahnavi is a 23-year-old Indian student in the United States from India. She was born in Adoni, Kurnool, Andhra Pradesh, India. Jaanhvi was the daughter of a single mother. she was a bright student and chose to study computer science.
Jaahnavi went to the US in 2021 on a student exchange program from Bengaluru to pursue a master’s degree. Jaahnavi was in her final year of her Master of Science in Information Systems. In Seattle, she was studying at the Northeastern University campus in South Lake Union.
How did Jaahnavi Kandula die?
Several media reports state that Jaanhavi was struck just as the car reached its full speed at the intersection of Thomas Street and Dexter Avenue North. She was brought to Harborview Medical Center, where she passed away as a result of her wounds.
The vice president of the Seattle Police Officers Guild, Daniel Auderer, arrived at the site of the accident on January 23 where another officer, Kevin Dave, struck and killed Jaahnavi Kandula, who was crossing the street.
According to The Seattle Times, Auderer, a drug recognition expert, was tasked with determining whether Dave was intoxicated while he was traveling 74 mph (119 kmph) to a call for an overdose. Auderer then called guild president Mike Solan to report what had happened while still leaving his body-worn camera on.
