Indian-origin, UK-based woman Nitasha Kaul, who is also a Kashmiri, made some claims that she was not allowed to enter India due to security reasons. On Sunday, February 25, 2024, professor Nitasha Kaul landed in Bengaluru but was not allowed to go further.
Nitasha shared the incident with people over social media, where she stated that she was stopped at the Bengaluru airport and was not allowed to go further. Kaul even said that she was deported back to London.
However, Nitasha also clarified that a uniform reason was not given to her and that she was not allowed to enter due to her opinions on democratic and constitutional values. Kaul, who is known for her critical remarks on the present government, said the airport officials made references to her earlier criticism of the RSS.
Who is Nitasha Kaul?
Nitasha Kaul is a British and London-based professor, writer, and poet who likes to speak about political issues. Nitasha was born in 1976 and presently she is 48 years old. She was born to a Kashmiri Pandit family in Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh, and was brought up in Delhi.
As per reports, Kaul went to the St. Thomas School and completed her graduation from Sri Ram College of Commerce in Economics. In 1997, Nitasha moved to England and did her post-graduate from the University of Hull. She later earned a doctorate in Economics and Philosophy from Hull University in 2003. Nitasha Kaul has been in studies since her childhood.
Nitasha kicked off her career as a lecturer of Economics at the University of Bath. She has also worked as an Assistant Professor for several years and presently she is an Assistant Professor in Politics and International Relations at the University of Westminister.
What happened with Nitasha Kaul?
On Sunday, 25 February 2024, Nitasha Kaul took to her social media, X, and stated that she was invited by the Karnataka Government to participate in the two-day Constitution and National Unity Convention 2024 as a speaker for 24 and 25 February 2024 and when she reached the Bengaluru Airport, she was stopped by the Airport officials.
Nitasha Kaul mentioned that she was given no reason by immigration except they could not do anything on orders from Delhi. Kaul even said that her travel and logistics had been arranged by Karnataka and she had the official letter with her and she received no notice in advance from Delhi that she would not be allowed to enter.
In her post, Nitasha Kaul also claimed that she was treated badly and was not provided with a pillow or blanket as she waited for more than 12 hours at the airport for further proceedings. Kaul also said that she was not even provided with proper water and food. As per reports, Nitasha Kaul was not allowed to enter India due to her previous political comments and criticism of RSS.
