According to the Hindu calendar, Ganesh Chaturthi takes place in the month of Bhadra, which means in August or September. This year, the Chaturthi Tithi begins on September 18, 2023, at 12:39 PM and ends on September 19, 2023, at 1:43 PM.

The auspicious time or muhurta for Vinayak Chaturthi 2023 will be between 11:01 AM and 1:28 PM on 19th September. The festival honors Lord Ganesha, a deity worshipped before all other gods in the Hindu religion.
Will schools and banks be closed? City Wise List
The RBI divides bank holidays into three groups: Real-Time Gross Settlement Holidays, Holidays Under the Negotiable Instruments Act, and Holidays Under the Negotiable Instruments Act and Banks Closing Accounts.
On Tuesday for Ganesh Chaturthi/Samvatsari (Chaturthi Paksha) and on September 20 for Ganesh Chaturthi (2nd day)/Nuakhai, banks will be closed in Ahmedabad, Belapur, Bhubaneswar, Mumbai, Nagpur, and Panaji.
Karnataka: Banks will remain closed on 18th September 2023 due to Vinayak Chaturthi.
Telangana: Banking services will not be available on 18th September 2023 owing to the festival.
Gujarat: 19th September 2023 is a bank holiday due to Ganesh Chaturthi.
Maharashtra: Banks will be closed on the 19th of September 2023 in observance of the festival.
Orissa: The state will observe a bank holiday on 19th September 2023 for Ganesh Chaturthi.
Tamil Nadu: Banks will remain closed in the state on the 19th of September 2023.
Goa: The state will have a bank holiday on 19th September 2023 for Ganesh Chaturthi.
Delhi: All the government and private schools and banks will remain closed on Ganesh Chaturthi.
