The 19th edition of the Asian Games 2023 is being organized in the People’s Republic of China. An Indian contingent of 655 players is completing the multisport event, which officially began on September 23 and will conclude on October 8.
The 18th edition of the Asian Games 2023 was held in Jakarta in 2018. That year, 570 Indian players participated in the tournament and won 70 medals: 16 gold, 23 silver, and 31 bronze.
Six athletes in archery, ten in artistic swimming, 34 in boxing, two in breaking, two in hockey, ten in modern pentathlon, six in sailing, two in tennis, and two in water polo will receive direct entry into the Paris 2024 Olympic Games in addition to winning medals.
Leading athletes including Neeraj Chopra, Avinash Sable, Jyothi Yarraji, Nikhat Zareen, Lovlina Borgohain, Bajrang Punia, and Antim Panghal are part of the Indian athletics team competing in Hangzhou.

So far India has won 24 medals in Asian Games 2023. Among the 24 medals, 6 are gold which is one by Rudrankksh Patil, Aishwary Pratap Singh Tomar, Divyansh Singh Panwar in Shooting (Men’s 10m air rifle team). Apart from that Indian Athletes won 8 silver medals and 10 Bronze medals to date in the Asian Games 2023 tournament.
