Now, there are five Indian films that are in the prestigious club of ₹ 1000 crore with Shah Rukh Khan’s action entertainer, ‘Pathaan‘ becoming the latest entry in the list.
The list contains three south Indian films and two Hindi films. Naturally, all the films featured in 1000 Cr club list are the highest-grossing Indian films ever.
Nowadays, a film joining the 100 Cr club, or 200 Cr club is no big deal at the box office worldwide. In fact, Indian movies are competing with Global cinema in terms of box office numbers.
The Recent release, Pathaan is a perfect example of this, it has done phenomenally well in both Indian and overseas markets.
The film joined the 300 Cr club in just six days. And broke several box office records including, the highest-grossing movie of 2023 and the highest-grossing Bollywood movie, domestically. SRK starrer has now become the latest entry in the 1000 Cr club list.

The popularity of south Indian movies among Indian cinephiles has increased of late which is evident from the aforementioned list which contains three south Indian movies. Thereby all eyes will now be on the collections of upcoming big-ticket south Indian movies.
Dangal accumulated unprecedented numbers at the box office due to its sensational run in China. Aamir starrer is the highest-grossing Indian film of all time and the only Indian film to have grossed ₹ 2,000 Cr mark.
2017 release Telugu film, Baahubali 2 comes at the second spot in the list, it is the only Indian film that accumulated ₹ 1000 Cr nett in India.
Rajamouli’s RRR ranks at the fourth spot with a total collection of ₹ 1155 crores, the film holds the record for the highest-grossing opening day Indian film with first-day collections of ₹ 235Cr+ gross.
Yash starrer KGF 2 is the fourth entry in the ₹ 1000 crore club with a total collection of ₹ 1208 Cr, the film churned out most from the northern belt.
The dubbed Hindi version of KGF2 has become the second-highest-grosser Hindi film in the domestic market, leaving behind all the major big-money spinners in Bollywood films Dangal, PK, Sanju, etc.
The Hindi version of the Sandalwood’s outing also holds the record for the second-highest opening day grosser Hindi (₹ 53.95 crores) with Pathaan being at the first position ( ₹ 57 Cr).
Not only this, but four versions of KGF2 crossed the ₹ 100 crore mark including Karnataka, Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi, with Hindi taking the lead with a whopping Rs 400 Cr.
