Pathaan marked the comeback of the superstar Shah Rukh Khan on the silver screens after 4 yrs. The actor was last seen in Zero (2018) in a full-fledged role.
It is produced by Aditya Chopra under Yash Raj Films. Pathaan is the fourth installment in the YRF Spy Universe after Ek Tha Tiger, Tiger Zinda Hai, and War.
The shooting of Pathaan commenced in Nov 2020, later the filming was halted owing to the pandemic and the 3-week stint of the actor’s son Aryan Khan in jail over a drug case scrutiny. Finally, the filming was completed in Oct 2022. At that time, no one would have imagined that it will take the Box Office 2023 by storm.
Pathaan Release Date & OTT
Pathaan was released in cinemas on 25 January 2023 in three Indian languages Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu. Directed by Siddharth Anand of War fame, the post-theatrical streaming rights of the movie are bagged by Amazon Prime.
And the platform has confirmed that Pathaan will premiere on March 22, 2023 (Today at 12 AM) in Hindi, English, Tamil, and Telugu.

Before hitting the theatres, Pathaan had created a rage in the pre-bookings. The advance bookings of Pathaan had opened with flying colors in India. It overtook the KGF-2(Hindi) pre-sales becoming the highest advance bookings grosser for day 1, post-pandemic.
Pathaan had sold 5.56 Lakh tickets for the opening day across major national multiplex chains. The film is second all-time highest after Baahubali 2-Hindi, which sold 6.50L tickets on the opening day.

Pathaan occupied 5500 screens in India and 2500 screens overseas for a worldwide screen count of 8000 screens.
Pathaan Budget and Remunerations
Pathaan is made on a huge budget of 250 Cr. And according to the reports, SRK charged 100 crores as his salary for Pathaan.
The reports also read that Deepika’s remuneration for the film is 15 Cr while John Abraham took home 20 crores.
Pathaan Runtime
The film received the ‘UA’ certificate from the CBFC board on Jan 2 with an approved runtime of 2hrs 26mins and 16 sec or 146.16mins.
After Pathaan, Tiger 3, which is also part of the YRF Universe, is expected to continue the blockbuster run to end the Hindi film industry’s box office drought which is currently dominated by South Indian Movies.

Pathaan Star Cast
Along with Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone is playing the counterpart lead actress in the film.
Pathan marks the fourth collaboration between Deepika and SRK together after the blockbusters like Om Shanti Om (2007), Chennai Express (2013), and Happy New Year (2014), and the coincidence is, in all four films the hit duo Vishal Dadlani and Shekhar Ravijani has given the music.
John Abraham did the antagonist role, Ilez Badurgov in the role of the police guard, and veteran actors Ashutosh Rana and Dimple Kapadia played significant roles in the movie. Apart from this, Salman Khan reprises his role as Tiger in the extended cameo appearance.

The teaser of the film was released on 2 Nov 2022 on the occasion of King Khan’s birthday. The teaser received much appreciation, from the viewers, it crossed over 6.6 crore views in just 2 months. Pathaan’s trailer was released on 10 Jan 2023, 15 days before the release date.
The two and half a minute long trailer of Pathaan features Shah Rukh Khan (titular role) in an action-packed avatar, Deepika’s smoldering style, and John’s villainous shade. Going by the trailer, John is on a mission to destroy Bharat Maa (India) but Pathaan (India’s most trusted soldier) has been entrusted with the task to abort the mission.
