The 1993 blockbuster Tamil heist action film Gentleman is all set to be back with its sequel titled Gentleman 2 soon.
Almost three decades after Gentleman was released, the makers decided to deliver the second installment of the franchise.
Gentleman, starring Arjun, Madhubala and Subhashri in lead roles, was written as well as directed by S. Shankar, who made his directorial debut with this film while it was financed by K.T. Kunjuman under his banner A.R.S. Film International.
The dialogues of the film were written by Balakumaran while legendary music composer A.R. Rahman composed the music and background score.
The film released on July 30, 1993 and that time no distributor was willing to distribute the film, then, producer K.T. Kunjuman himself decided to distribute it and despite facing these challenges the film became a box office success and ran for over 175 days in theaters.
Not only that, but the film also received various accolades and awards including 3 South Filmfare Awards, 4 Tamil Nadu State Films Awards and 5 Cinema Express Awards.
Gentleman 2 Casting
Recently, some rumors were being spread all over the social media that actress Nayanthara has been cast for playing the female lead in the film, but it is actually half truth.
Actually, the actress who has been confirmed for the role of female lead is not female Superstar Nayanthara but Malayalam actress Nayanthara Chakravarthy. Yes, you heard it right!!
Nayanthara Chakravarthy is a popular Malayalam Child artist, who is popularly known as Baby Nayathara, who won multiple awards in Best Child Artist category including IFA Award Dubai for “Best Child Artist in 10 Years” Category.
To pursue her studies, she also took a brief gap and now the young talent is all set to make her lead actress debut with Gentleman 2.
The confusion between superstar Nayanthara and Baby Nayanthara was cleared by the producer Kunjumon, who welcomed her onboard by sharing a picture with her on social media.

Along with Nayanthara, Baahubali fame composer M.M. Keeravani will also join the team as Music composer while The other cast & crew, including director have not been finalized yet.

Plot of the Film
The story of the first installment of the franchise was based on a respected Madras-based businessman who was moonlighted as a thief who steals from the rich for helping the poor for their studies. We could expect the same type of story line in Gentleman 2 with some new twists and turns.
