Directed and written by Tamil actor-director Pradeep Ranganathan, Love Today is a Tamil rom-com drama film. Along with directing the film, Pradeep himself has written the screenplay as well as the lyrics of the film.
Love Today is the first movie of Pradeep as an actor and the second movie as a director after 2019’s blockbuster comedy film Comali starring Jayam Ravi and Kajal Agagarwal in the lead roles. He won SIIMA Awards 2021 in Best Debutant Director category for Comali. Love Today is said to be an extension of Pradeep’s short film App(a) Lock.

Pradeep who is donning multiple hats for the film, is also playing the lead role as Uthaman Pradeep, known for predominantly working in Malayalam and Tamil films, is playing his love interest Nikitha Shastri. Love Today is Ivana’s 3rd Tamil film after Naachiyaar and Hero.
Other than the lead stars, the film also features Sathyaraj, Yogi Babu, Radhika Sarathkumar, Raveena, Finally Bharath, Adithya Kathir, Aayeedh Khalique, Vijay Varadaraj, Akshaya Udaykumar in key roles.

The Yuvan Shankar Raja musical is shot by cinematographer Dinesh Purushothaman whereas its editing work is handled by Pradeep E. Raghav.
Love Today Trailer
On October 5, 2022 on the occasion of Vijaydashami, Tamil superstar Silambarasan TR launched the trailer of the film. 2 min 38 sec long trailer opens with a funny conversation between Pradeep and his girlfriend Nikitha’ father regarding marriage.
Nikitha’s father (Sathyaraj) asked them both to exchange their phones of 24 hours and agrees to accept his proposal for his daughter if they still want to get married. While both are worried that their secrets may be out, they are also tempted to check each other’s phone.
Actual entertainment and drama begin when they finally unlock each others’ phone which leads quirky chaos, fights and entertaining one-liners.
