Multiple Award winning Malayalam film Run Kalyani is set to have its theater release soon. It marks the feature directorial debut of documentary filmmaker-writer Dr. Geetha Jayaraman, Known as Geetha J.
On the technical front, Madhu Neelakandan has cranked the camera, Ajith Kumar handled the editing work while Sreevalsan J. Menon has composed the film’s music. Ian McDonald and Harikumar N. have served as the creative producer and sound engineer, respectively.

The film earlier had its premiere in many National and International film events and won many accolades including Special Jury Award Kolkata International Film Festival 2019, FIPRESCI Award International Film Festival of Thrissur 2022, Best Actress Award New York Indian FF 2020, Best Director Award Indian FF of Cincinnati 2022.
Best Feature Film Award South Asian FF Montreal 2020, Office Comp Bangalore International FF 2020, Official Selection Indian Film Festival of Melbourne 2020. It was also among the top 20 BEST Indian Feature voted by FIPRESCI- India.

Now the AkamPuram Production is set to entertain the Indian audience on big screens. It will be released theatrically on September 2, 2022 in India by Shiladitya Bora’s Platoon Distribution.

Run Kalyani Star Cast
The film stars actress Garggi Ananthan in the titular role, Kalyani, a commoner who along with managing her household, also works as a cook in people’s houses. The film also stars Manoj Minor as Raghavan, Meera Nair, Ramesh Varma and Madhu.
Plot of the Film
The film follows Kalyani, a working class cook, who lives with her bed-ridden aunt and also manages her work as a cook in people’s houses. The daily routine is the same, yet there is small variation in her average day.
Things change when she moves from humble home to her employer, the bachelor Vijayan’s house, who is nearing his retirement and has a joint family. Being a silent witness of his and his family’s life, Kalyani works as a Bridge for bringing the family members close to each other.
