Ekta Kapoor and Mohit Suri are coming together for the sequel of their 2014 super-hit thriller ‘Ek Villain’. Arjun Kapoor has been roped in to play the male lead in ‘Ek Villain 2’.
Director-producer Ekta Kapoor and Mohit Suri will be reuniting for the sequel of their 2014 crime-thriller film, ‘Ek Villain’. The film had Siddharth Malhotra as the protagonist who fell in love with Shraddha Kapoor, the ailing fragile little girl who carries Siddharth’s love child. She is later killed by Retiesh Deshmukh, a serial killer who despises on women. Ritiesh and Siddharth play ‘cat and mouse’ until the antagonist is served with all the hate he’s inflicted upon innocent women.
The ‘Ki and Ka’ star, Arjun Kapoor has been roped in to the play protagonist role. However, it is the antagonist role that takes the front seat in the ‘Ek Villain’ franchise. As per Ekta Kapoor, they want to convert ‘Ek Villain’ into their production house’s ‘Dhoom’ franchise. It is one of those films where even the top A-listers of Bollywood want to play the role of the antagonist, not the protagonist.
Arjun Kapoor and Mohit Suri will be reuniting after ‘Half Girlfriend’, the cinematic adaptation of Chetan Bhagat’s infamous book with the same name. Arjun Kapoor was last seen in Prabhat Kumar’s ‘India’s Most Wanted’ in 2018. He is currently busy shooting for Ashutosh Gowarikar’s ‘Panipat’. Arjun will also be seen in Dibakar Banerjee’s ‘Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar’ in 2020. The film is in its post-production stage.
On the work front, Mohit Suri just wrapped up his film ‘Malang’ with Anil Kapoor, Disha Patani, Aditya Roy Kapoor and Kunal Khemu. He shared pictures from the wrap-up party in an Instagram post. The film produced by T-Series, Luv Ranjan Films and Northern Lights Entertainment’s Jay Shewakraman will release on 14 February 2020.
