The 2017 super hit South film ‘Arjun Reddy’ introduced multi-talented star Vijay Deverakonda in the showbiz. This time he will be making his Bollywood debut with Dear Comrade Hindi remake in 2020.
The Tollywood film Arjun Reddy released in 2017 broke all collection records and gained critical acclaim. The debutant Vijay Deverakonda who played the lead character Arjun Reddy marked his debut in the film industry with a historic film which was later remade in Hindi.
Vijay became an overnight sensation down-South. Since then, he’s been busy signing new films and gracing his fans with one killer performance after the other. After making a mark in the South film industry, Vijay is all set to debut in the Bollywood film industry too.
Vijay Devarakonda first came to notice when Shahid Kapoor’s 2019 blockbuster ‘Kabir Singh’ blew away Box Office numbers. As much as the audience loved Shahid Kapoor as Kabir Singh, they also appreciated Vijay’s role in Arjun Redddy. This is when ace director Karan Johar decided to cast Vijay in the Hindi remake of Vijay’s ‘Dear Comrade’.
KJo later acquired the rights of Tamil super hit film ‘Dear Comrade’ only to get Vijay to play the lead role in the film. Yesterday Karan announced the news of ‘Dear Comrade’ remake and Vijay Deverakonda’s Bollywood debut with the film. The film named ‘Fighter’ by Dharma Productions will also have ‘Bahubali’ fame Ramya Krishnan and TV star Ronit Role in pivotal roles.
Talking about the film, Karan said ‘Fighter’ will be a very heavy action film with martial arts. The ‘Arjun Reddy’ star has undergone major training and extensive work to nail his look for the upcoming Bollywood film. The film will be shot exclusively in Mumbai over the next six months. This comes across as a surprising fact given all of Karan Johar’s films are heavily based on dreamy outdoor locations.
