Article 15 3rd day box office collection: Ayushmann Khurana starrer ‘Article 15’ had a good opening weekend, survives ‘Kabir Singh’ wave.
Anubhav Sinha’s Article 15 had a pretty good opening weekend as far as box office numbers are concerned. The film has survived the ‘Kabir Singh’ wave which remains the first choice for the moviegoers.
Article 15 had a decent opening at the box office as it earned 5.02 crores on the first day. It witnessed a good jump on Saturday and earned 7.25 crores.
Now, on Sunday, it remained strong and manages to hold well despite a big cricket match between India and England. Article 15 3rd day collection is 7.77 crores.
The total collection of the film after the first weekend stands at around 20.04 crores. A 20 crore opening weekend is pretty good for a drama film based on a sensitive issue.
The first weekend collection of Article 15 is second highest for Ayushmann Khuranna after Badhaai Ho. The first weekend box office collection of Article 15 is 13th highest of 2019.
The film has received good reviews from the critics. The WOM of the viewers is also positive. Moreover, the presence of a big star Ayushmann has ensured that the film gets a good response in the first weekend. Without him, the same film would have earned just 15 crores in the first weekend.
Like Anubhav Sinha’s last film Mulk, this one also strongly relies on word of mouth. The film has performed well in the opening weekend and now it has to hold well on weekdays.
The budget of Article 15 is around 30 crores. It will be considered a hit if it crosses 40 crores. To cross this number, the film should not drop by more than 40% on Monday compared to Friday collection (5.02 crores).
