Kesari 5th Day Box Office Collection: After a good first extended weekend, Akshay Kumar’s historical war-drama Kesari holds well on Monday, inches closer to 100 crore mark.
Released on Holi, Akshay Kumar’s historical war-drama Kesari is all set to emerge hit at the box office. After a good extended opening weekend with the collection of 78.07 crores, the movie now holds strong on Monday.
#Kesari puts up an impressive total… North circuits are superb… While the 4-day total is good, the biz on Sat and Sun should’ve been higher, since the word of mouth is excellent… Thu 21.06 cr, Fri 16.75 cr, Sat 18.75 cr, Sun 21.51 cr. Total: ₹ 78.07 cr. India biz.

As per early estimates, Kesari 5th day box office collection would be around 8.5 crores. This takes the five days total to 85+ crores.
The strong hold on Monday suggests that the movie is here to stay and will continue to earn on weekdays. It should earn 105 crores by the end of the extended first week. Kesari will be Akshay Kumar’s 10th 100 crore movie.
The total budget (promotion and advertising cost) of Kesari is 100 crores. It needs to earn 130 crores to be declared a box office hit.
I was expecting the movie to have a big drop in the collection on Monday but that didn’t happen. The strong hold on Monday is a very good sign for the movie. With the current trend, we can expect the movie to earn around 105 crores in the extended first week.
The trending in the second week is crucial. It will decide the lifetime numbers. With the current trend, I am expecting the lifetime collection of Kesari to be around 140 crores.
Many trade experts were expecting Kesari to cross 200 crores especially after a good opening and positive response. However, it seems that Akshay Kumar has to wait for his first 200 crores grosser.
