Marjaavaan 11th Day Collections: An average film that just got lucky

Siddharth Malhotra and Tara Sutara starrer ‘Marjaavaan’ has proved to be ‘an average affair’ at the Box Office. The action film has so far managed to rake in Rs 44.12 crores at the Box Office.

The ‘Ek Villain’ trio, Milap Milan Zaveri, Siddharth Malhotra and Riteish Deshmukh has failed to make a mark at the Box Office. The film opened to decent collections in the first weekend but Monday week collections dropped significantly.

The film released on 15 November collected Rs 7.03 crore on its opening day (Friday),  Rs 7.21 crore on Saturday, Rs 10.18 crore on Sunday, Rs 4.15 crore on Monday, Rs 3.16 crore on Tuesday, Rs 2.53 crore Wednesday and Thursday. Marjaavaan Week 1 Box Office Collections totalled at Rs 37.87 crores.

The second-weekend collections summed up to Rs 5 crore. However, the film experienced the biggest drop on the second Monday as it only earned Rs 1 crore at the Box Office. Unlike popular belief, we have a strong feeling that ‘Marjaavaan’ will barely make it to the 50 crore club in its lifetime. A film that has only worked in the single screens and smaller multiplexes of Tier 2 and 3 cities stands a fairly low chance of becoming a Box Office hit.

Even though the film opened solo at the Box Office, it has only crawled into the 40 crore club. The film has so far only got to the break-even point. The action-drama film stars Siddharth Malhotra in his ‘Ek Villain’ avatar Raghu. The ‘Ek Villain’ antagonist Riteish Deshmukh essays the role of a vengeful 3-feet-tall mafia son who wishes hell upon Raghu.
