If reports are to be believed then acting powerhouse Taapsee Pannu is to play India cricketer Mithali Raj on the big screen.

Speculations are on the round that the youth sensation of Bollywood Taapsee Pannu is all set to star in the upcoming biopic that will be based on the life of the Indian women’s cricket icon Mithali Raj. Recently Taapsee gave her insight on these rumours.

She has been playing powerful roles, and the film fraternity is dazzled by her achievements. This recent news has been like a celebration among her fans as they’re eager to see her in this wonderful role.

While any official communication has not been made on several reports, have been speculating that the actress is the first choice for this role.

After she successfully nailed the hockey player role in Soorma starring Diljit Dosanjh expectations are quite high from the actress.

According to the recent report of Mumbai Mirror, Taapsee Pannu has been finalized for this role, and soon the official announcement can also be made regarding this which will turn the speculation into a confirmation.

The film is just awaiting the presence of a strong director, and once the team finds a good director, the announcement regarding this will be made.

The source of Mumbai Mirror also told that the story had been locked, but the script is going through few changes to have an impact over the viewers.

In the recent interview with PTI, Taapse was asked about these speculations and if she has been locked in to star in this film or not.

She said that she would be on cloud nine if she bags this role if it is offered to her. She emphasized that she wants to essay a role in a sports biopic.  She said that she’d definitely say a big Yes if this role is offered to her.
