JEE Advanced 2021 Exam Date has been announced by the Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Monday, 26th July 2021. IIT Kharagpur will be conducting the JEE Advanced exam this year.

JEE Advanced 2021 Exam is scheduled to be conducted on October 3, 2021, as per the latest tweet made by the Education minister. The education minister has also conveyed that the examination will be organized adhering to all COVID protocols.
JEE Advanced is conducted to offer admission into Bachelor’s, Integrated Master’s, or Bachelor- Master Dual degree courses in Engineering, Architecture, or Sciences.
The qualifying candidates will be offered admission into IITs and other renowned institutions. Only the students who will clear the JEE Main 2021 exam will be eligible to sit for JEE Advanced 2021.
Earlier, the authority has released the information brochure with all the dates on the website – jeeadv.ac.in. But due to the Covid- 19 pandemic situation in the country, the exam date was postponed.
JEE Advanced 2021 will be held in two shifts – Paper 1 (9 am to 12 pm) and Paper 2 (2:30 pm to 5:30 pm). It is compulsory for students to appear in both papers.
Changes Introduced in JEE Advanced 2021
This year due to COVID-19, students have faced a lot of problems & delays in the exams.
Keeping in view of the difficult times, many changes have been introduced by the authority.
- Students who were registered for JEE Advanced 2020 but couldn’t appear have been given a second chance. These students are not required to appear for JEE Main 2021 to sit for JEE Advanced 2021 exam. However such students must register for JEE Advanced 2021 and pay the application fee accordingly.
- Earlier, the eligibility criteria was also relaxed to passing in 12th and qualify JEE Main. Students are not required to have obtained 75% marks (65% for ST/ SC) in Class 12 to be eligible to apply.
- This year, 8 new exam cities have been added to conduct the JEE Advanced exam. While, 7 exam cities have been removed from the list.
- IIT Council has decided to create supernumerary seats for female candidates in order to improve gender balance in UG courses in IITs.
