Two days after the communal clashes in Mira Road Thane, the municipal corporation of the area has razed a bulldozer action on illegal stalls in the Naya Nagar area. A day ahead of the Pran Pratishtha ceremony of the Ayodhya Ram Mandir, communal riots broke out in Naya Nagar.
The Mira Bhayander Vasai-Virar Police booked 50–60 people for assaulting a man who was part of a procession on the eve of the idol consecration of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya. Police arrested 13 people after the clash between two communities.
The Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Devendra Fadnavis, condemned the clashes. He said, “There will be zero tolerance against anyone who tries to take the law into their own hands and attempts to disturb the law and order situation in Maharashtra.”
