SSC MTS 2023 Exam Pattern: SSC released the SSC MTS 2023 recruitment notification on June 30, 2023, for 1158 vacancies. The exam is conducted to fill Group C Multi Tasking Staff vacancies for various ministers and departments of the Indian government. The Staff Selection Commission has made major changes to the selection process and exam format for the SSC MTS 2023 Exam.

As per the updated selection process, the candidates will be selected based on Paper 1 (online mode), followed by document verification. But for MTS Havaldar Post, there will be an additional round of physical standards after the online exam.

SSC MTS 2023 Selection Process

Before knowing the format of the exam, candidates should be well aware of the updated SSC MTS 2023 selection process. As per the revised pattern, there will be no descriptive exam for the MTS post. Selection will be based on Paper 1, which will be conducted online.

SSC MTS 2023 Exam Pattern

The Staff Selection Commission has revised the SSC MTS 2023 exam pattern for SSC MTS. Candidates should review the updated SSC MTS 2023 syllabus as well. The exam is conducted online via computer-based testing. Candidates can check the updated exam pattern for paper 1 in the given table.

SSC MTS 2023 Exam Pattern Paper 1

Marking Scheme for Paper 1

  • The exam consists of 90 objective questions (multiple choice questions) with a total of 270 marks.
  • For each correct answer, candidates will get three marks, while for each incorrect answer, there will be a deduction of one mark.
  • Note that there is no negative marking in session 1, but in session 2 there will be a negative marking of 1 mark.
  • Altogether, there are four sections: numerical and mathematical ability; reasoning ability and problem solving; general awareness; and English language and comprehension. Each section consists of 20 to 25 questions.
  • The total duration of the exam is 90 minutes, and the time given to VH and CP candidates is 120 minutes.

SSC MTS Exam Pattern: PET & PST

Candidates who will appear for the SSC MTS Havaldar post in CBIC and CBN have to appear for the PET and PST exam, which is qualifying in nature. Candidates can review the latest exam format for PET and PST rounds in the given table.

Q-Is there any negative marking in the SSC MTS Exam?

Ans-Yes, there is a negative marking of 1 mark for each incorrect answer in Section 2 on the computer based exam.

Q-What is the selection process for the SSC MTS Exam?

Ans-As  per the updated syllabus, candidates are selected based on Paper 1, which is conducted online and followed by document verification. There is an additional round of PET/PST after Paper 1 for Havaldar posts.

Q-What is the total time allotted for SSC MTS Exam?

Ans-Candidates will get 45 minutes to finish each session of the exam. whereas candidates eligible for scribes get 60 minutes.

      SSC Paper-I MTS (Online)
