SSC Stenographer Selection Process
As per the guidelines of the Staff Selection Commission, the SSC Stenographer Selection Process consists of three stages. It is important for candidates to know all the stages and prepare accordingly in order to get the final selection.

SSC Stenographer 2023 CBT
The Computer-based online Test (CBT) is the first stage of the SSC Stenographer selection process in 2023. It is divided into three parts, i.e., A, B, and C. The Stenographer syllabus consists of General Intelligence and Reasoning, General Awareness and English Language, respectively.
SSC Steno Exam Pattern for Stage 1- CBT
SSC Steno Exam Pattern for Stage 1- CBT Parts “A” and “B” will have 50 questions each, whereas Part “C” will have 100 questions. The time duration to solve these 200 questions is 2 hours. For each right answer, candidates will be given one mark, whereas for each wrong answer, there will be a penalty of 0.25 mark.

SSC Stenographer 2023 Stenography Skill Test
The candidates who qualify for the online examination will have to appear in the Skill Test for Stenography. They will be given one dictation for 10 minutes in English or Hindi at the speed of 100 words per minute for the post of Stenographer Grade “C” and 80 words/minute for the post of Stenographer Grade “D.”
The matter will have to be transcribed on the computer. The transcription timing is given below in the table:

Document Verification
The candidates who clear both the online examination and the Stenography Skill Test will be called for the document verification round before being posted in the various departments or ministries of the Government of India.
The candidates must bring the original documents mentioned below along with their photocopies:
- Two passport-size, recent colour photographs
- Valid ID proof, which can be an Aadhaar Card/ Voter ID Card/ PAN Card/Passport/ Driving License etc.
- Matriculation/Secondary Certificate
- Certificate of Educational Qualification
- Caste/Category Certificate (If belongs to a reserved category)
- Person with Disabilities Certificate in the required format (If applicable)
- Relevant Certificate required for Ex-Servicemen
