The first edition of the Women’s Premier League (WPL) has finally come to an end. The Women’s IPL featured five teams from various Indian zones competing in T-20 games, and one of them is the UP Warriorz. UP Warriorz has reached the elimination game, and now they will be competing against the Mumbai Indians to reach the finale.
This was the first time that any tournament like the Indian Premier League (IPL) that is held in India is open to women cricketers. The format for the TATA Women’s Premier League (WPL) was the same as it is for the Indian Premier League.
The inaugural edition of the Women’s Premier League is being held in Mumbai from March 4 to 26. A total of 22 matches will be played at Mumbai’s Brabourne Stadium and DY Patil Stadium.
UP Warriorz WPL Schedule 2023
The Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2023 started on March 4, 2023, and the UP Warriorz played their first match against the Gujarat Giants on March 5, 2023, at DY Patil Stadium. UP Warriors won their first match by 3 wickets.
So far, the UP Warriors have played eight matches and won only four of them. UP Warriorz now will be competing against the Mumbai Indians on March 24 to get qualified for the final.

The team is owned by Capri Global. The team is to be coached by Jon Lewis, and their squad was assembled at the inaugural WPL player auction in February 2023.
UP Warriorz: Captain 2023
Alyssa Healy, an Aussie player, will serve as the UP Warriorz’s captain for the WPL’s inaugural competition. Healy is the daughter of Greg Healy, a right-handed batsman and wicketkeeper who competed for Queensland.
Alyssa Healy’s uncle, Ian Healy, held the mark for the most dismissals in a Test match as Australia’s wicketkeeper. Healy owned the 82.5-meter Guinness World Record for the highest cricket ball catch.
