South Indian star actress Samantha Ruth Prabhu was born in April 1987 to a Telugu father and Malayali mother in Kerala. The actress did her schooling & completed her degree from Chennai, Tamilnadu.
The actress started her career in modeling during her college days, and made her acting debut through Gautam Vasudev Menon’s directorial romantic drama Ye Maaya Chesave in the year 2010.
The film was a critically & commercially successful film and for her performance in the film Samantha copped the Filmfare Telugu award in the category of Best Debut Actress.
In the same year, she featured in three south Indian films Baana Kaathadi, Moscowin Kavery, and Brindavanam with the latter becoming a successful film at the box office.
The actress who had tasted success with her debut film, in the span of her 12 yr filmy career (as of 2023), appeared in many notable Tamil and Telugu films like Dookudu, Eega, Neethaane En Ponvasantham, Attarintiki Daredi, Manam, Kaththi, S/O Satyamurthy, Theri, 24, Mersal, Rangasthalam and so on.
The period action Rangasthalam was her career biggest grossing film, in this Sukumar Directorial, Samantha shared the screen space with the power star of Tollywood cinema Ram Charan. The film currently holds the 8th spot in the all-time Telugu highest-grossing films.
Samantha walked down the aisle with Telugu star Naga Chaitanya in the year 2017 and after four years of togetherness, the couple parted ways in Oct 2021.
The actress made her Web Series and Hindi debut through the successful spy thriller franchise The Family Fan: Season 2, in which her role of Raji, a Tamil rebellion was critically praised.
She was seen shaking her belly, in the blockbuster pan Indian film Allu Arjun starrer Pushpa: The Rise, in the superhit song ‘Oo Antava’. The song & her dance performance was loved by moviegoers across India.

1- Shaakuntalam
She will next be seen in a big-budget mythological drama titled Shaakuntalam based on the epic Shakuntala written by India’s greatest poet Kalidasa. Written and helmed by Gunasekhar. Samantha will be essaying the titular role Shakuntala.
Financed by Neelima Guna, Dil Raju, and Hanshitha Reddy under the banner Gunna Teamworks and Dil Raju Productions. Other actors Dev Mohan, Aditi Balan, Mohan Babu, Prakash Raj, Madhubaala will be seen portraying pivotal roles. ‘Shaakuntalam’ will be released on 14th April 2023.

Samantha will next be sharing screen space in the 11th film of the Vijay Deverakonda, it is directed by Shiva Nirvana under the banner Mythri Movie Makers. It was to release on Dec 2022 but has been postponed to the 2023 release, confirmed for 1st Sep.
