“Technology is the sum of techniques, skills, methods, and processes used for the development of goods or services or in the accomplishment of objectives or any task”

In simple words, we can say that, by adopting engineering & technology we can solve any problem or any given task which may be of a complex nature with great accuracy & efficiency.

Eligibility Criteria

The basic eligibility criteria for pursuing B.Tech or B.E. is to have:

  • Passed or appearing 10+2 (class12) with Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics Subjects
  • Candidates should have English and any two other subjects in class 12th.
  • For biotechnology or Biomedical engineering candidates with PCB subject group are also eligible.
  • The minimum percentage of marks required is 50 to 70% (aggregate), varies from college to college.
  • For lateral entry B.tech, candidates must have a 3 year diploma or Polytechnic.
  • There is no age criteria prescribed by JEE Main but some universities might have an age limit up to 24/25 years.

B.Tech Admission Process

The admission to B.Tech programme is done on the basis of engineering entrance exams, some of the prestigious engineering entrance exams are listed below:

  • SRMJEEE

The most common, and widely accepted engineering entrance exam is JEE Main, conducted by National Testing Agency (NTA). The exam is held every year for admission to IIT’s, NIT’s, CFTI’s, state government aided & private engineering colleges of the country.

The student who qualifies JEE Main can appear for JEE Advanced which is conducted for admission to IIT’s.

There are many university entrance exams like BITSAT conducted by Birla Institute of Technology & Science for admission to its B.Tech/BE programmes, similarly some of the well known university entrance exams are VITEEE, SRMJEEE etc.

B.Tech Entrance Exams

For admission to the top engineering colleges, one has to qualify the engineering entrance exam. Some of the most popular entrance exams are:
